Community Builders
What is a Community Builder?
A Community Builder (CB) is someone who lives within one of the ICW neighborhoods to facilitate social and recreational activities for our residents. CBs are an important point of contact for our residents as well as being their neighbors. Community Builders receive housing as compensation for their commitment to the ICW community.
We could not do the work that we do within our community without the tenacity, vibrancy, and genuine kindness each of our CBs displays daily, and we are so grateful to have them as indelible parts of our team!
Liz Bottai (she/her/hers)
Community Builder
Liz is Community Builder with ICW. She grew up in Ypsilanti, MI and attended the University of California – Santa Cruz and Wayne State University for her teacher certification and master’s degree, respectively. She has taught elementary and middle school, in both regular and special education classrooms. She currently works with the Young Adult program in the WISD. She has one lovely daughter and one incredible dog. She is fervently committed to adding to the fulfillment of the lives of the residents of this special organization.
Cole McFadden (he/him/his)
Community Builder
Cole is a Community Builder with ICW. Cole grew up in Ann Arbor and went to Michigan State University, later finding a passion in plants and growth. Having worked with individuals with special needs for the last decade, he finds connecting and including people with those around them is crucial to living a fulfilling life. Allowing others the comfort to truly be themselves while sharing their interests and excitement means a lot. Cole also has interests in photography, soccer and music, which have all been his pleasure to share with the ICW community.
Aureaun Rias-Tribble (she/her/hers)
Community Builder
Aureaun is a Community Builder with ICW. She mostly goes by the nickname “Aun” and has a deep passion for being a part of safe spaces and community. Previously based in Detroit, Aun volunteered and worked closely with her local Mutual Aid & Disability Network which is how she was introduced to ICW. Currently she works as a Community Health Worker and loves learning and sharing any community resources she finds. In her spare time, she enjoys birding, cooking, and learning languages. Aun admires the community, care, and creativity of ICW and looks forward to all the moments and memories to come.
Jennifer Dorda (she/her/hers)
Community Builder
Jennifer has always been passionate about connecting people and fostering inclusivity, regardless of differences. With two decades of experience in local schools, she understands that building relationships and fostering a sense of community are essential to strengthening bonds and promoting an environment where individuals can grow and learn. Jennifer aims to create a welcoming, safe, and friendly space where everyone can be themselves. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, practicing yoga, staying active, being creative, and traveling. She feels that ICW is a natural fit for her, as it aligns with her personal beliefs and values. As a lifelong resident of Washtenaw County, Jennifer is delighted to be part of the ICW team and looks forward to continuing its success.
